Use 3rd party adminLTE themes with shinydashboard?

Read shinydashboard docs at https://rstudio.github.io/shinydashboard/appearance.html and wondering if there's an approach currently to apply 3rd-party adminLTE templates, for example https://adminlte.io/premium?

If not is there a walk-through to customize shinydashboard appearance (fonts, colors) or is the only approach to apply a custom .CSS file?
