Using Workflowr to manage dissertation

Hi everyone,

I'm curious out people's opinions about using the workflowr package? Do people use the workflowr package or do people just use GitHub through Rstudio interface that's already pretty easy and intuitive. The automatic website workflowr generates would make it easy for me to share updates with my dissertation advisor, but I'm not sure I want to that much package dependency. Also, for some reason I'm having trouble setting workflowr up and not sure I want to spend the energy troubleshooting. I've just started incorporating Github into my workflow and curious about best practices and what everyone else is doing.

Thanks for your thoughts and advice.

I gave workflowr a look but didn't see a compelling advantage over good GitHub hygiene without needing to support external users unable to run Rmd files.
