Variable select data & Structure & Unstructure data

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to R.

How do you Variable select in data frame. Can someone help with coding. Could someone give me advice on how to structure and unstructured data. How do you now the difference between discrete, nominal, ordinal and continuous in a variable type?
