Our client, Virga Labs, is adding a Developer to their technology team. This person will lead efforts to build data visualization applications for their clients. In this role, you will have the opportunity to explore your passion for bringing static designs with complex storytelling potential to life in code.

Who You Are:
- You are proficient in a number of front-end languages such as JavaScript and R Shiny and possess a working knowledge of how to build hosted applications leveraging AWS services
- You work best through collaboration and have experience in establishing best practices on your team that will aid in continued growth and bigger impacts

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and implement complex data visualizations using front-end programming languages and visualization tools
- Work collaboratively with Virga Labs team members to organize and plan activities from week to week.
- Work with clients to understand their data visualization needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements
- Collaborate with UX Designers to push the envelope of what can be communicated within an interactive data application
- Construct user guides, manuals, and other documentation as required
- Perform exploratory data analysis and visualization of large data sets
- Collaborate with other developers to establish best practices for software development at Virga Labs
- Stay up-to-date with the latest visualization tools and technologies
Compensation:

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of front-end development experience
- Demonstrable experience working with frontend development languages, R Shiny and JavaScript
- Knowledge of data visualization principles and techniques
- Experience in software development lifecycle and version control with Git
- Experience constructing front-end applications that interact with backend web services, i.e AWS Lambda
- Working knowledge of SQL or R for data exploration when required
- Experience visualizing multivariate numerical data with plotting frameworks like ECharts is a plus
- Comfort communicating at both technical and executive levels of detail, especially when explaining complex topics to those new to the subject area
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative and inclusive environment
- If remotely located, willing to travel to Tucson, Arizona for meetings and work sessions several times throughout a calendar year
