When i use RStudio (Version 1.4.1106) it appears pretty laggy, runs at 60Hz and typing is not as fluent as in other editors or in other windows such as firefox, excel etc. How come RStudio only runs at 60 Hz and when RStudio is highlighted everything else are just at 60Hz? Is there a setting somewhere or am i doing something wrong perhaps?
Makes it pretty unusable for me.

Have you tried changing to software rendering?, you can change it by holding the Ctrl key while opening RStudio, then you should see this menu and change the "Rendering Engine" to "Software".
