I really wish that RStudio would give me more information about system status. I find myself wondering what is going on, there's no indication of what is happening with longer queries or complex work. If it is taking awhile to do anything, at least tell me that it is doing something. When should I Force Quit? (yeah some queries take awhile because there's gobs of data and yeah some queries take awhile because I effed up). Help me recover, please.
This is not a very specific question. What are you doing exactly? Some functions give progress information in the View pane. On Windows you can also look in the Task Manager to see how busy your CPU is. I do that a lot.
