Which License for rocker/Rstudio Docker image?

We are using rocker/Rstudio Docker image (open source) on K8S environment (on-premise).
Data Scientists (about 10) dynamically start up Rstudio Pod and shut down if they need.

In thie case, Which License is needed for us?
Is Rstudio Desktop Pro ok? and How can we manage and activate the license? and Is floating license needed?

Please help us.

Hey @zeros! Thanks for sending this message and apologies for the delay in getting back to you! If you would like to start another thread, we would be happy to continue this conversation! Alternatively, you are welcome to reach out to our sales team (sales@rstudio.com) and we would be happy to talk through licensing with you.

Although this does not quality as legal advice, our open source software usually does not need to have a professional license associated with it. Some exceptions to that rule are when a trademark license is required or when an organization desires a commercial license or professional support. Rocker works without a license for exactly that reason!

If you want to take a look at our professional software, the analog of what you are looking at is "RStudio Server Pro," which is discussed here Posit Workbench | Build Data Products in R and Python

There are also docker images for our professional products available here, which require a license to use. If you are ever interested in evaluating, discussing the differences or seeing a demo, our sales team would be happy to help and can get you a 45-day evaluation license that can be used to try our professional software in your environment.

I hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any more questions!
