Why does rstudio git gui use password style text box for asking for your github user?

Does anyone know why rstudio git gui uses a password style text box for your github user when you try to push to github? This prevents chrome credential manager from work properly.

I was thinking about filing an issue on github but I'm not sure if this behaviour is by design for some reason.

I don't think it's intentional -- it was likely just an oversight. I think it's worth filing an issue on GitHub.
