write.table output

Hello,
I am tring to save a txt file using write.table() but if I have a number with a 0 after the decimal separetor this is omissed in the output, for example if the data is 18.20 in the stored txt I got 18.2. I hope that this is clear.
Any help?

Instead of just giving write.table() a data frame you can format it:

write.table(format(df, digits=2), [all your other options])

Thank you for your reply, using format, the output data becomes characters (they appear in this format in the txt "18.20")

Is text not what you want if you write to a text file? Maybe if you provide a reproducible example, including what you expect the final output to be, it will be easier to help.

This is my script, on the right what I want and on the left what I got...

if you want a table for visually representing to humans (rather than to machines)
then perhaps use a formatting library and save to html.

(randnums <- data.frame(randnums=c(1,2,round(runif(10,0,1000),digits=2)))

library
ft <- flextable(randnums)

ft <- colformat_num(ft,
                    col_keys = "randnums",
                     digits=2)

save_as_html(ft,"mytable.html")

If you still wants to use write.table(), this would do the trick. Note that this code sets the minimum number of digits to 2 rather than cutting them off at two. Pick which one you like best.
