Changing shape of legend in ggplot

I have a visualization in which I have dots and x's, one representing location of dennys and one representing locations of la quintas. When I made the legend, the shape showing up is an x in a circle, but I was wondering how I could get the legend to indicate that a circle is for the dennys and the x's are for the la quintas. Thanks!
