Data file in excel

Hi ALL

I'm using Project Template in R. I have saved the data files which are in an xlsx format to the data folder in project template when loading the project template R is changing the file names and also referring to them by sheet name which makes the file name in R different to what in the Data folder. I have tried saving the files in csv format but that didn't work either. Any ideas please?
