Difference between stats::reorder and forcats::fct_reorder

I was just teaching the forcats package (which I don't really use myself) and a student asked how forcats::fct_reorder differs from stats::reorder. She commented that from the help files they appear to do the same thing.

Do these functions essentially do the same thing?
