I just downloaded Rstudio for the first time. And I'm fairly sure the menu bars and 'panes' aren't there. I'm really not sure how to access these. Sorry if this has been asked before
Have you also installed R? Rstudio is an IDE for the R programming language.

What you are showing is the R GUI not RStudio, they are not the same, you have to download and install both and then open RStudio not R
