Abstract: Lemurs are the most endangered mammals with 98% of lemur species classed as endangered. The Duke Lemur Center studies, cares for, and protects lemurs, and this table presents data on some of the lemurs who live at Duke Lemur Center!

Full Description: The aim of this table is two-fold: (i) to raise awareness of lemurs as an endangered species, and (ii) highlight some of the interesting features within the {gt} package, which can be used to take tables to a new level! The main features I aimed to highlight here are:

  • Including images in tables
  • Combining multiple sources of text data into a single cell and using HTML formatting to style the text
  • Creating function to generate multiple copies of a similar plot corresponding to different rows in a table
  • Including plots in {gt} tables
  • Styling tables with consistency, in this case to match the corporate branding of the data source
  • Including Google fonts
  • Publishing with Quarto
