Need some help with general linear model

I'm having some problems building a general linear model for my psychology dissertation and am new to R so would love some tips! I usually use SPSS for this, but it doesn't seem to work very well for what I need.

The aim of the research is to explain a personality trait using reaction time data, along with several other covariables in a general linear model. Unfortunately, the reaction time data has a few outliers and isn't normal. Transforming, trimming and windsorizing haven't helped much (my sample size is quite small, which might be behind this) so I'm hoping to bootstrap the model to work around the issues.

Unfortunately, using a non-parametric test isn't possible in this case, so any tips would be really appreciated around fixing these issues and building the model in this software.

Thank you!
