Non English Characters in Figure Caption

Hi, I'm having trouble with figure captions and couldn't find a solution on the web.

{r label, fig.cap="Çalışması"}
knitr::include_graphics()

Both in html and pdf output the caption is printed as "Çalismasi". So, ş becomes s, ı becomes i.
Any idea how can I solve this?

Edit:

Fixed it by creating an .Rprofile file

Sys.setlocale("LC_CTYPE", "turkish")
