RDCOMClient’ is not available (for R version 3.6.1)

Hello everyone. I desire to use the DescTool package and also produce a word document of the output. here is my line of code:

library(DescTools)
Desc(loan, main = NULL, plotit = NULL, wrd = GetNewWrd())

but I keep having this warning message

Warning message:
In GetNewWrd() :
  RDCOMClient is not available. To install it use: install.packages('RDCOMClient', repos = 'http://www.omegahat.net/R/')

I ran the following command:

install.packages(RDCOMClient)

but I got this warning:

Installing package into ‘C:/Users/pedog/Documents/R/win-library/3.6’
(as ‘lib’ is unspecified)
Warning in install.packages :
  package ‘RDCOMClient’ is not available (for R version 3.6.1)

Please is there a way around to resolve this?

Have you tried following the advice in the warning message? try running this command instead

install.packages('RDCOMClient', repos = 'http://www.omegahat.net/R/')

Apparently it is not compatible yet with R >= 3.6 On github there is a fork from a user that claims to have solved the issue but the PR is not accepted yet, you can give it a try if you want

I am new to R, and am attempting to install the RDCOMClient package, but keep ge…tting errors. If I attempt to install using devtools, I get: > devtools::install_github("omegahat/RDCOMClient") Error in curl::curl_fetch_memory(url, handle = h) : schannel: next InitializeSecurityContext failed: SEC_E_UNTRUSTED_ROOT (0x80090325) - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted. That is weird, I can install it without a problem and I'm also working with R 3.6.1 on a windows machíne, you can try disabling https for package updates, other than that I'm out of ideas.
