A week ago I asked on passing env from R to py about how to pass an environment variable from R to a python function using reticulate. Having heard nothing, and received no views on that post, I thought I would try here. I thought that this was a relatively naive question that would be obvious to experienced python/reticulate users, of which I'm obviously not one. This is my first attempt to try to link something in R to python. Apologies for the weird formatting on the original post, the bold lines were comments in the code that was pasted into the message.
