When I open up a particular Rproject it opens up previously discarded scripts.
For example in the above image the same file "Untitled1.R" has been opened in excess of 20 times, each is identical.
I have gone through and discarded each version, closed down my project and opened it again and this does not change it, they are still loaded in. I have even deleted the project, created a new one (with the same name, in the same working directory) and it still loads in the files.
My project directory is stored on onedrive but I have not had any issues until the last month or so, previously I had been working for 2-3 years with no issues.
