Rstudio desktop will not launch

I just downloaded R onto my chromebook using Debian. After which, I installed Rstudio desktop. When I try to launch the app for the first time, it just continues to say it's loading and never opens. I've tried uninstalling it which didn't work. I checked to make sure R is downloaded, which it is. Previous people asking a similar question were told to hold the control key while opening the app to choose the R installation but that does not work for me at all.
