Scroll bars are missing on the latest version (MacOS Catalina). This appears to be the case with all Rsudio / editor themes. It has been this way for a few months. I have noticed this within the source pane (I am not sure if it is supposed to appear in the other panes).
You might try this and see if it helps.
Thanks. I have managed to change this in the advanced options in RStudio. It does not make any difference.
