shortcut opens RGUI instead of RStudio

Error Information:

Description of issue -
I followed these instructions:

and every time I open my shortcut titled "R x64 3.5.2" it opens RGUI instead of RStudio (which I want)

Attempted steps taken to fix -
mostly uninstalling, looking at other discussion boards and trying to reinstall that way.
also tried going to directory and finding RStudio.exe (or something along those lines) but could not find anything.

System Information:

  • RStudio Edition: Desktop
  • RStudio Version: [RStudio 1.1.463 - Windows Vista/7/8/10]
  • OS Version: windows 8
  • R Version: [Download R 3.5.2 for Windows]

You state ourself that your shortcut is to Rgui.

You need to locate rstudio.exe on your system and use that to launch RStudio.
