Should the SearchBuilder extension with server-side processing work?

I'm confused if the SearchBuilder for DT now works with server-side processing as previously discussed here ([FR] SearchBuilder works with Server-Side processing mode · Issue #963 · rstudio/DT · GitHub) from Feb 2022. From the comments on the issue, it seems that SearchBuilder should now work in server-side mode but it is not working.

I've tried DT_0.24 (stable) and DT_0.24.2 (dev) with shiny_1.7.2 and both don't work in server-side mode but work well in client-side mode (server=FALSE).

Thanks in advance for any insight about this. The SearchBuilder is a very useful extension but I cannot use it in client mode due to the size of the data.
