Warsztaty będą podzielone na cztery półtoragodzinne bloki:

Summer of Data Science Book Club

Date: 2018-07-02 at 17:30
Location: Charlottesville, United States

Description Snippet:

Now that summer is in full swing, it's the perfect time to dive into a longer term project!

We'd like to challenge you to participate in the Summer of Data Science Twitter initiative started by Data Science Renee (https://twitter.com/BecomingDataSci). While the SoDS18 is open to all programming languages and endeavors related to becoming a (better) data scientist, we wanted to host a space within our Cville R-Ladies community to ask questions, provide support, and work together on group projects! Of course, there will also be snacks. :)

How do I participate?

We're going to kick off the book club by working through the first section of R for Data Science by Hadley Wickham and Garrett Grolemund (available for FREE at http://r4ds.had.co.nz/explore-intro.html). We'll start with Data Visualization with ggplot2, and we'll cover a ... read more at the event page.

R-Ladies Summer Social: Sip & Code!

Date: 2018-07-02 at 18:00
Location: Chicago, United States

Description Snippet:

Summer is finally here! Join R-Ladies Chicago to celebrate with wine and R!

• What we'll do:
We will taste some wines (and non-alcoholic drinks too!) and rate them based on the winemag.com scoring system. Then, we will work together in small groups to analyze and visualize the wine preferences of R-Ladies in R! Wine consumption is absolutely optional --we'll have non-alcoholic beverages & food too.

We'll also be introducing some R-Ladies Chicago outreach initiatives, including our new website: rladieschicago.org and kicking-off our Random Acts of Coffee program!

There will be no formal technical talk at this meeting; rather, a time to network with fellow R-Ladies while doing a collaborative coding activity. This is part of our “social” Meetups, focused on networking and idea exchange.

• Collaborative Coding:
We know the idea of coding with others can be daunting, but this is a safe space and everyone is welcome (even if you do not know how to ... read more at the event page.

R-Ladies London visits R-Ladies Berlin

Date: 2018-07-03 at 18:00
Location: Berlin, Germany

Description Snippet:

We are happy to welcome R-Lady Grace from London at our additional meet-up session next week!

# Speaker details

Grace Meyer is a commercial analytics expert with proven success in advising business strategy based on data driven insights. She is currently based in London and works for the economics consultancy Oxera where she applies machine learning to strategic projects and is developing the data science and programming team. She is a mentor in the R-Ladies London chapter, uses R on a daily basis to crunch data and problem solve and presented at both UseR! and EARL last year.

# Dive into dplyr

Data is seldom already in a tidy format for you to start analysis on straight away. My personal experience confirms that about 80% of the analytics work-flow is massaging and crunching data into a useful state. R is a master of analytics and modelling which would be useless without its strong data manipulation functionality, especially from the tidyverse package dp ... read more at the event page.

R ️ Python

Date: 2018-07-03 at 17:30
Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom

Description Snippet:

This month we’ve got special guest Raniere Silva visiting all the way from Manchester and we'll focus the whole session on how R & Python can play nicely together. Whether you are an R developer that uses Python for some of your work or a member of data science team that uses both languages, reticulate can dramatically streamline your workflow!

We'll kick off with a talk by Raniere in which he'll discuss the basics of Python and R interoperability through package reticulate.

The rest of the session we leave open for YOUR examples of R ❤️ python workflows. Examples can be at any stage of development, even if (if not especially if) you are stuck on something. The idea is to get as broad a sample as possible of the many ways the two languages can interact and help out if we can.

My name is Raniere Gaia Costa da Silva but sometimes you will see me writing only Raniere Silva. I work for the Software Sustainability Institute (Sign-up for this event at meetup.com

Modelagem de Dados Complexos por Meio de Extensões do Modelo de Regressão Clássico
Ministrante: Luiz Ricardo Nakamura

Our next session will be broken up as follows:

10:00AM - 11:00AM RLadies lightning talks on packages we love

R and Python study group

Date: 2018-07-07 at 10:00
Location: West des Moines, United States

Description Snippet:

Are you tired of learning and playing with Python and R alone? Would you like to get together with a few friends and learn together? I have been starting to learn R and Python for data science and following the typical route of videos and practice projects. I really want to ramp up my learning and exposure to different ways. Here is my proposal:

- Gather a small group of 2-5 and learn together.
- Meet at a coffee shop, library, or some other space that has Wi-Fi.
- Pick a project, data set or problem, then work to solve it with different tools.
- Keep it fluid and informal.
- Meet on a regular basis, say weekly to start, and adjust as needed.
- Aim to keep the meetings 2-4 hours long, but this can be adjusted to the project or group. People can come and go as needed.
- It does not have to be the same people each time, so you only have to commit to going once to check it out.

Are you interested? Show up at the meeting spot, have some coffee, meet ... read more at the event page.
